Who are the Lay Missionaries of Charity (LMCs)?
The Lay MCs are dedicated to a life of growth in holiness, especially within their own families, and live as contemplatives in the heart of the world, serving where they live, especially the poorest of the poor. The aim is to restore the domestic sanctuary of the family through prayer, dialogue and personal consecration.
A call within a call
The Lay Missionaries of Charity (LMC) is a Movement within the Catholic Church founded in the Charism of the Missionaries of Charity and is a branch of the Missionaries of Charity Order.
Words from our founder
"It isn't Mother or myself that calls you to this vocation but God Himself."
Fr. Sebastian Vazhakala, MC"One of the main scopes of the LMC Movement is to labour at saving and restoring Christian families, helping them to be transformed into domestic sanctuaries of the Church. The LMCs study the important magisterial documents such as 'Familiaris Consortio', 'Christifideles Laici', etc..."
Fr. Sebastian Vazhakala, MC"Our Lady wanted St. Teresa M.C. to teach them to pray the Rosary, which would make the families stay together. 'For the family that prays together, stays together.'"
